Generally, the SC rating any component of power cable is based on adiabatic assumption for the overall duration of fault. i.e. the heat is retained in the component for the SC duration.
There are some standards available which are accepted globally that provides the guidelines for incorporating the calculations by non-adiabatic approach to leverage non-adiabatic heating effects.
